I've stopped asking her opinion, and I think she's resigned herself to my addiction. I mean, it's like banging your head against a brick wall. It might also show up in the form of 'light-hearted' jokes that actually feel mean. So I'd let her sample this or that, but always to no avail. I kept thinking, maybe she'll like this, or maybe she'll like that. Initially, this really troubled me since I've become quite the fragrance fanatic over the last year or so. (Although she'll spray herself with perfume every now & then, so I have my doubts.)

I think that she has an extremely sensitive sniffer - much more so than mine - and she simply can't tolerate scents. To Annette, Colins behavior doesnt just reflect his inherent disregard for. The 2 exceptions seem to be rose (as in primarily rose-based scents where the rose is the main attraction) and bay rum. Its a great image, promoted in stacks of idealistic leadership books. My wife absolutely hates almost every single scent I own, and I own quite a few. I might still get something if I really love it and just wear it when he's at work, but when he's around it's much more fun to wear a fragrance he actively likes.and I have a bunch of those so it's not too much of a sacrifice! I tried to trick him into liking Dzongkha but he's too sharp (or he's onto me) - he consistently gets barnyard and pee.sigh. You're right, Kerosene, it is a bummer! When I'm testing a new fragrance I really like I'll try to guide him into liking it too, as if I can sell it in a way he might find attractive by pointing out that Tina Fey wears it, for instance (especially when I suspect he'll take one whiff and say "old shag carpeting" or "Right Guard.") Then I might try it out again on him at a later date, hoping to have a different result, but if that doesn't work I'll actually take it off my WishList.
